At the Student Federal Credit Union, we try to do more for you. That's why we offer our members access to such products as USPS Postage Stamps and SEPTA Tokens at cost. In addition, we deliver products like American Express® Travelers Cheques and Cashier's Checks at the lowest possible costs. We just believe it's another way we can do more for our members.

USPS Postage Stamps & SEPTA Tokens
The SFCU offers its members the convenience of purchasing United States Postal Service (USPS) Postage Stamps and South Eastern Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Tokens at our teller windows. SEPTA Tokens are sold in packs of five (5) for $7.25. USPS Stamps are sold in books of twenty (20) for $8.20.

American Express® Travelers Cheques
The SFCU offers American Express® Travelers Cheques in a variety of denominations. There is a 1% fee for Travelers Cheques, determined by the total amount of travelers checks withdrawn. This fee is waived for our SFCU Signature Checking customers. Any unused Travelers Cheques may be re-deposited into your account at the SFCU. Simply countersign the check, make it payable to yourself; endorse the back as you would a regular check.

Cashier's Checks
The SFCU provides members with the service of printing Cashier's Checks, also known as Certified Checks. Cashier's checks are equivalent to Money Orders, except that a Cashier's Check is classified as a business check and so is not subject to a check-holding period. Cashier's Checks are generally accepted by companies even if they do not accept personal checks. There is a $1.00 charge for each Cashier's Check requested. This fee is waived for our SFCU Signature Checking customers.

Personal Checks
All members who open an SFCU Checking Account will receive a book of 8 free starter checks. Members who wish to write more checks may purchase a set of 175 dual-copy checks with prices ranging from approximately $10-$20. The SFCU does not assess a check writing fee.
